Choose the strength

Set Stockfish anywhere from a gentle club opponent to full strength. Start where you win some and lose some, then turn it up as your reading sharpens.

Play any position out

Every puzzle and study position has a “Play this position” button. Found the right move? Keep going — play the rest against Stockfish and see whether you can convert it. That last step, converting a winning position, is where most rating points hide.

Nothing to wait for

Because the engine runs on your machine, there’s no lag and no queue. It works offline once the page has loaded, and it never sends your moves anywhere.
